Current Status

Pilot Timeline:

1. Band Council and Community meetings held in June and July 2007
2. Evaluators conducted audits – July and August 2007
3. Contractors install energy efficiency products – Fall 2007 – Spring 2008
4. Evaluators conduct follow-up audits – at completion of contractor work

Updates:

• 234 homes in total visited by trained energy evaluators during the months of July and August 2007.
• Energy Evaluators are in the process of completing and submitting their paperwork on each home.
• House data is ‘modeled’ by specialized software to determine which homes qualify for more extensive energy efficiency work, for example, air sealing and insulation
• Energy Advisors and Liaison Persons reported very positive responses from all community members.
• Communities anxious to start the energy retrofits.
• Power Cost Monitors were well received with many people saying it is the best way to teach everyone in the home to shut things off when not in use.
• Local apprentices very appreciative of the skills they have learned.
