Communities in five different areas of Ontario will partake in the pilot and there will be a maximum of 300 homes in total participating. First Nation Evaluators are to conduct energy audits on all homes in the chosen communities with help of local apprentices. The energy audit consists of a blower door test which measures the house dimensions and insulation. Based on the energy audit results, certain homes will be targeted to receive extensive energy efficiency retrofits. These may include but are not limited to:

  • Building envelope air sealing

  • Insulation

After insulation and air sealing, the homes will be retested with another blower door test to ensure that the work was done properly.
