Booshoo! Wachiya!Tansi! Greetings to all! This
is to provide you with an update of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation
Measures (EEMAC) program for the First Nation communities in Ontario.
1. Energy Conference was held in May 2007
2. Education Component – Energy Efficiency curriculum to
be developed that will be delivered to our First Nation schools
3. Energy Retrofit Pilot Project – Five communities, from
throughout Ontario were selected as a pilot for energy audits and
extended measures to all the homes in the First Nation.
4. Energy Conservation Kits – 25,000 homes in our First Nations
across Ontario have received an Energy Conservation Kit
Our Energy Conservation Kits have been distributed to all First
Nation homes in Ontario. We would like for you to complete a quick
survey to let us know if you have utilized the contents of the
Energy Conservation Kit and have installed the products contained.
If you have any products that you might have trouble installing,
please check out our website, www.conservethelight.ca and under
the Energy Conservation Kits tab, you will find a video that was
created by two of our summer students, Dylan Hardy from Biinjitawabik
Saugeen Anishinabek and Aaron Gray from Lac Seul First Nation.
We would like to acknowledge and thank our youth for their participation
and production of this video. This video is separated in segments
by product. This will assist you to simply click on the product
to learn how to install it and how it will help you conserve energy
in your home.
